Education Plan helps parents to save toward their children’s post-secondary education. The Federal Government through Human Resources Canada introduced the Canada Education Savings Grant (CESG). Doesn't matter with which company you start your RESP, the following are the benefits - You are eligible for a government grant up to $7200, for each child lifetime. You receive the grant based on your family net income, 20% on your annual contribution of $2500 to a maximum $500 per year for those families whose net income is $83,088* or above. If your family income is between $41,544* and $83,088*, on the first $500 of contributions, you will get 30% grant and on the balance 20% grant to a maximum of $550 per year. If the family income is under $41,544*, on the first $600 you are eligible for 40% grant and on the balance 20% to a maximum of $500 per year. However, it may be noted that the maximum grant a child could get lifetime is $7200. The above numbers are applicable for the 2011 contribution year.

2004's Federal budget introduced dramatic proposals to enhance the Canada Education Savings Grant to provide greater support and recognition for those parents saving for their child's post-secondary education.From July 2006 the federal government funding $100 per month under universal child care benefits (UCCB).  We would like to urge every parent to use this money smartly to enhance your child's educations funds need and we have plans tailored for this.
